Sinai tribe calls for unified stance against terrorism

CAIRO – 29 April 2017: Al-Tarabeen, one of North Sinai's renowned tribes, called on other tribes to take a unified stance to combat takfiri militants, in an online statement published on its Facebook official page Saturday.

The Tarabeen’s initiative came as a reaction to the tense clashes which erupted seven days ago in al-Barth market, south of Rafah, between Islamic State (IS) militants and tribesmen, leading to a number of casualties.

The released statement concluded that seniors and advisors of the tribes of North Sinai have to be present in the battlefield and proceed with consecrated efforts to manage the crisis. They should bridge any chasm occurring which would jeopardize their stability.
