Arab newspapers highlight Saudi Crown Prince’s three-day-visit to Egypt

CAIRO – 5 March 2018: Arab newspapers have continued their coverage on Saudi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s three-day-visit to Egypt, highlighting Sisi’s emphasis regarding that Gulf security is an integral part of Egypt’s security.

Kuwaiti newspapers on Sunday highlighted that during the bilateral talks held the same day, Sisi stressed the importance of standing united to face all the risks and challenges in the region as the Gulf’s security is an integral part of Egypt’s security, and Egypt will not allow for anyone to threaten the Gulf’s security.

“Sisi to Saudi Crown Prince: Gulf’s security is from Egyptian security” was the frontpage headline of Kuwaiti newspaper Al Qabas, which focused on the emphasis of Sisi and bin Abdulaziz on the ongoing action to face regional intervention and internal division, to stand united to counter terrorism with its funding sources and to discuss the ways to promote the bilateral relations including common projects.

In addition, Kuwaiti newspaper Al Anbaa put a spotlight on Sisi’s speech in which he expressed Egypt’s appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Saudi Arabia based on the historic ties between the two countries.
It also pointed out to Egypt’s care in advancing bilateral cooperation with Saudi Arabia in different fields, adding that the timing of bin Abdulaziz’s visit to Egypt is perfect in the light of the challenges in the Middle East.

It also reflected Saudi Crown Prince’s care to pay his first foreign visit to Egypt since he took power; especially regarding the deep relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia and his concern to promote common Islamic and Arab action to face the different risks in the region.

In this regard, Deputy-Chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security Dhahi Khalfan reaffirmed that Sisi’s meeting with bin Abdulaziz restore hope that of strength of the Arab unity can be brought back.




Chairman of the Arab Parliament Meshaal bin Fahm Al-Salami in Sunday’s statement said that Egypt and Saudi Arabia play an essential role in preserving Arab national security and in combating terrorism as well as internal intervention of Arab affairs.

On Thursday, Cairo International Airport received a number of Saudi officials preparing for the visit of bin Salman on Sunday. The delegation was preparing for bin Salman’s visit to Egypt was the second Saudi delegation to arrive in Cairo. The delegation was received by a number of employees at the Saudi Embassy in Cairo.

On Monday, MBS will meet with Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayyib and will pay a visit to the Egyptian Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral at Abbasiya district, the one built in the era of late President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1965, where he will meet with Pope Tawadros II.

MBS will attend an artistic performance at the Cairo Opera House in the Zamalek neighborhood, western Cairo, on Monday.

According to the set agenda of the Crown Prince, MBS will hold talks with Egyptian officials, statesman, and businessmen.
