CAIRO - 24 February 2018: Ambassador of Egyptian to Serbia Mr. Amr Al-Jowaily inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion at the 40th Annual Tourist Exhibition of Belgrade, convening currently from February 22-25, 2018.
The opening witnessed the participation of the Egyptian Tourism Counselor Adel Al-Masry and representatives of two Egyptian companies “Air Cairo” and “Lucky Tours”.
At the opening ceremony of the Egyptian pavilion, the Ambassador of Egypt honored five frequent travelers who applied for the largest number of visas from the Embassy to Egypt during the past five years; as the founders of the onlind platform “Friends of Hurghada and the Red Sea”, earning an invitation from Général Ahmed Abdalla Governor of the Red Seat, and free tickets offered by “Air Cairo”.

The winners expressed appreciation for this generous gest by Egypt, highlighting that a number of them visited Egypt for more than 30 consecutive times over the last ten years.
Ambassador Amr Aljowaily said that the opening ceremony of the Egyptian pavilion witnessed a distinguished gathering of visitors including Arab, African and Francophone ambassadors in Belgrade, in honor of Egypt's pioneering role in the framework of the League of Arab States, the African Union and the International Organization of the Francophonie.
The ceremony was also marked by the participation of a variety of active circles in the Serbian society in three main sectors, the first through the major tourist companies, including the President of the Serbian Association of Tourism Agencies (YUTA), the second is represented by senior officials, including the the Belgrade Fair Authority (Sajam), as well as figures of cultural circles as represented by the heads of the Museum of African Art, the Center for Arab Culture and the Cultural Festival of Nis, in the select presence of the Serbian print and visual media, which was keen to conduct multiple interviews with the delegation of Egypt participating in the exhibition.

Ambassador Aljowaily of Egypt promised to refer proposals by participants in the ceremony regarding the importance of establishing other direct flights including Cairo and Sharm El Sheikh through the national airlines in Egypt and Serbia, for positive consideration by the concerned civil aviation authorities in Cairo and Belgrade.
Dr. Adel Al Masry, Tourism Counselor in Paris, representing the Tourism Promotion Authority, said that Egypt had always been keen to participate in the annual tourism fair in Belgrade, as the largest tourism event in the whole of South-Eastern Europe, with more than 250 foreign participants from 43 countries, and 60,000 visitors. He added that conducted several meetings with representatives of companies participating in the exhibition, in order to diversify the destinations for the Serbian tourists to Egypt, including through holding several promotional activities in Serbia. He revealed that the Egyptian Tourism Authority was currently studying the implementation of a promotional campaign by means of print, audio and visual media, organizing a tourist convoy in Serbian cities for Egyptian and Serbian companies, in preparation for an Egyptian cultural tourism week, as well as supporting the travel agents through joint marketing to encourage other tourist attractions in Egypt.

Meanwhile, a study prepared by Mohamed Abdel Latif adviser at tourist office in Prague, whose scope of work covers all the Balkan, has shown that the Serbian tourism to Egypt rose in 2017 by 140% from 2016, a trend that was expected to continue in the current year 2018.
On its part, Chairman of Air Cairo Mr. Yaser Al Ramli, announced that the flights of Belgrade Hurghada will be increased to two weekly flights from April 1 and then five flights a week from mid-May in response to growing demand from Serbian tourists to visit Egypt, noting that the company is the only one currently operating a regular airline flights between the two countries.
