In pics: Sisi visits Police Academy, praises officers’ sacrifices

CAIRO – 23 February 2018: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi visited the Police Academy in New Cairo City on Friday, where he inspected the morning exercises of the academy’s cadets.

During the visit, Sisi listened to the cadets’ families’ visions on their sons’ future. He was accompanied by the Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar.

According to a presidential statement on Friday, Sisi witnessed the morning exercises, which included physical capabilities of the police students.

He also made a speech, where he stressed on the police's role as the “watchful eye” on people’s security and safety. Sisi further praised the officers’ sacrifices amid huge security challenges facing the country, in order to maintain stability.

President Sisi stressed that Egypt has regained its prestige, saying that Egyptians should be re-assured on police capabilities to protect them.

He also thanked the families of the cadets for supporting their sons’ efforts to preserve security of the country.

On February 9, the Armed Forces launched the "Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018," with the aim to end terrorism in North and Central Sinai, as well as other areas in the Nile Delta and the desert areas in west of the Nile Valley.
