FM: Egypt among 1st countries launched war against terrorism

CAIRO – 17 February 2018: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said there are countries that directly or indirectly sponsor terrorism, expressing concern over their stance.

He raised a question about foreign terrorists who fled Syria's Raqqah and managed in the end to reach Sinai, Libya, Somalia, or Yemen.

"There is no obvious explanation for this," he told the conferees, calling for answers for such concerns.

The top diplomat also urged world collaboration to eliminate terrorism.

He pointed out to a current military operation in Sinai that is meant to purge the region from foreign terrorists and all extremists who are involved in terrorist groups.
