CAIRO - 17 February 2018: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted on Friday that Egypt is keen on uprooting terrorism in Egypt.
This came during Shoukry's meeting with French Defense Minister Florence Parly on the sidelines of the 54th Munich Security Conference (MSC).
Shoukry was quoted by Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid as saying that stability in Egypt will strengthen stability in the region as well as Europe.
They discussed means of fostering bilateral relations especially after President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s recent visit to Paris.
During the meeting, they reviewed the Sinai 2018 military operation and the situation in Libya, Abu Zeid noted.
Shoukry also expressed Egypt’s willingness to foster relations between Egypt and the G5 Sahel especially in confronting terrorism. He also said that Egypt is keen on participating in the G5 Sahel Donors Conference due to be held in Brussels in February 23.
He also welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron’s planned visit to Cairo, hoping that the visit will boost bilateral relations in the fields of defense, security and combating terrorism.
