CAIRO - 8 February 2018: The Administrative Control Authority launched wide-scale campaigns across the nation that led to the arrest of 14 officials over charges of taking bribes and abusing their powers.

It also foiled an attempt to squander public funds worth 500,000 pounds.

It thwarted as well an attempt by an owner of a major auto company to wriggle out of paying the exact customs duties levied on 271 microbuses imported from abroad.

The authority found out that the company owner paid 24.3 million pounds as customs duties while he was supposed to pay 35.5 million pounds.
