Pope Tawadros II arrives in Kuwait

CAIRO – 23 April 2017: Kuwait’s Deputy Head of the Emiri Court Sheikh Ali Garrah Al-Sabah received Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros II who arrived in Kuwait on Sunday.


The Coptic Pope was officially invited by the Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah during Garrah’s official visit to the Monastery of Saint Pishoy in the coastal governorate of Beheira.

According to Kuwaiti news outlets, the Pope’s four-day visit includes a number of official meetings with Kuwaiti officials and members of the Egyptian community in Kuwait.

Pope Tawadros II returns to Egypt on Wednesday to receive Pope Francis, who arrives in Cairo on April 28.
