2+2 meeting between Russia and Egypt to be held in May

CAIRO – 22 April 2017: In a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Friday, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry dicussed the situations in Syria and Libya and issues of mutual concern on the Security Council Agenda.

Shoukry and Lavrov agreed to hold the two plus two meeting, involving the ministers of foreign affairs and defense in both countries, in Cairo at the end of May, Spokesperson of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abou Zaid stated.

The last two plus two talks between Egypt and Russia were held in Moscow in February 2014.
