CAIRO - 21 January 2018: Parliament's Arab affairs committee said Sunday that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi sent clear and strong messages to the US administration concerning President Donald Trump's decision on Jerusalem.

Sisi called on Trump to reconsider his stance towards Jerusalem and the Palestinian cause, warning against the consequences of siding with Israel on the peace process.

This came in a meeting between Sisi and US Vice President Mike Pence during his visit to Egypt.

In a statement, the committee underlined that the visit of Pence came as part of a tour of the region and that his meeting with Sisi also came in the right time in order to learn about the Egyptian perspective of the Palestinian cause, especially in light of US' recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
