CAIRO – 19 January 2018: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Friday hailed the Egyptian people as the real hero in preserving the state.
Addressing the closing session of the "Story of Homeland" Conference, Sisi said the three-day event offered a real opportunity to review the achievements made in Egypt over the past four years.
He paid tribute to the Egyptian women for their sacrifices, expressing appreciation for Al Azhar and the Coptic Orthodox Church as the peace ensigns in Egypt.
The president also lauded efforts made by officials during the past period.
The conference offered a detailed review of all figures, data, and facts of a great epic made in Egypt since 2014, within the country's national project and its 2030 vision, Sisi said.
Over the past years, we have passed one of the most hard times of our nation's long history, he added. We aim to build a modern democratic civilian state, Sisi affirmed.
I believe that constructive dialogue is the key to reaching an effective national formula to meet the challenges facing us, the president said. The exchange of views provides decision-makers with various choices and options, he added.
He added that the Egyptian people rose up in defense of their homeland against the forces of darkness and forced the whole world to respect their free will.
Sisi also hailed the Armed forces that protect the land and the will of the people, as well as the police that preserve security and stability in the country.
He also praised the intellectuals, scientists and innovators who represent Egypt's soft power.
Sisi also paid tribute to the young people and Upper Egypt residents who are helping the country to complete its development process.
