Gargash: Qatar's interception of flights 'desperate attempt'

ABU DHABI - 17 January 2018: The United Arab Emirates' Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash deemed Qatari fighters' interception of its civilian flights as a "desperate attempt" for fear of marginalization.

Al Arabiya news channel quoted Gargash as saying that his country will take action to ensure the safety of its airspace and passengers' lives.

On Monday, the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced that Qatari fighter jets intercepted an Emiriti civilian flight bound for Bahrain.
