CAIRO – 14 January 2018: Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Diab al-Louh said that he did not expect U.S. President Donald Trump to reverse his decision regarding the American Embassy move to Jerusalem.

In an interview with Youssef al-Husseiny on On Live, Louh said that the decision of moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem aimed to “exclude Jerusalem from the settlement negotiations.”

Louh said that Palestine sought a United Nations decision to designate Palestine an occupied territory. He also called on the international community to work on ending the Israeli occupation, stressing that a time frame should be put.

In a unilateral decision, on December 6, Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital by announcing the relocation of the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

In an annual press conference with foreign press held Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the government and Knesset headquarters will be in Jerusalem, regardless of the peace negotiations’ results, Sputnik new agency reported.
