CAIRO - 13 January 2018: Al Azhar will organize an international conference on Al Quds on Wednesday with the aim to emphasize the Arab and Islamic identity of the city.
The two-day event will shed light on the international responsibility toward the holy city, which is currently under Israeli occupation, a statement by Al Azhar said Saturday.
Participants will focus on international law, which obliges the occupation force to maintain the situation as it is on the ground and not to impose new facts, the statement noted.
The conference comes in response to the US decision to move its embassy to Al Quds as a capital of Israel.
A number of important recommendations should be reached at the end of the event.
