CAIRO – 2 January 2018: A former Iranian army officer wrote his resignation on Sunday on the Twitter account “IranianAmericanYouth” and announced that he joined the rebels to fight against the regime.

The officer took a picture of the handwritten document dated December 31 next to his military rank insignia and the official service vest, after the regime rejected the demands of the Iranian people. Protests erupted on Wednesday December 27, 2017, under the slogan "No to Luxury".

The Iranian people continued their revolt against the Iranian regime for the sixth day in a row, demanding Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to step down after chanting slogans such as "Death to Khamani".
