RAMALLAH - 2 January 2018: The Israeli Knesset plenum has approved the "Unified Jerusalem Law", which is an amendment to "Basic Law: Jerusalem", Ynet reported Tuesday.

Bayit Yehudi chairman Naftali Bennett pushed the bill, which was submitted by MK Shuli Moalem-Refaeli to his party.

Any decision relating to Jerusalem, the bill stipulated, will require the consent of 80 MKs - even in the case of a peace agreement.

According to Ynet, 64 MKs supported the bill and 51 objected.

It said MK Ofer Shelah (Yesh Atid) ended up abstaining, despite his intention of voting against it.
