CAIRO – 29 December 2017: The governor of the Red Sea area, Ahmad Abdullah, performed Friday prayers at the Tawba (repentance) mosque in the Hala’ib-Shalateen area, along with the Minister of Awqaf (Endowments) Mouktar Goma’a.

As much as LE 2.8 billion are expected to be invested in various development projects of the semi-deserted city of Hala’ib, announced governor of the Red Sea on Friday.

Abdullah said in a press statement that the government has already established several large development projects in the Hala’ib-Shalateen project, including water stations as well as fishery-related and other cultural projects.

The governor also confirmed that the city plans to implement the largest fishing ports project to ever be established along the Red Sea coast which is expected to be completed at the beginning of next year.

Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated earlier that over 500 housing units will be finalized in Hala’ib and Shalateen area before 2018.
