CAIRO- April 10: The cabinet approved Monday President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s decision to declare state of emergency, following deadly attacks on Egyptian churches that left 45 people killed and over 110 injured Sunday.

18:30 - Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal announced the parliament will resume the discussion Tuesday, to listen to the motives and the reasons that lead to declaring the state of emergency from PM Sherif Ismail.
17:16 - Church of St. George in Tanta, Gharbia announced the death of two of the injured victims in one of Cairo hospitals, reaching 47 fatalities.

17:10 - Ministry of Interior intensified the security services in the streets and public squares all over the country, following the declaration of a state of emergency.
16:26 - President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received a phone call from the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, expressing his sincere condolences to Egyptians and to the families of the victims.
13:55 - Egyptian parliament started a plenary session to vote on the state of emergency declaration, in presence of PM Sherif Ismail.
12:30 - The government allocated a compensation of EGP100,000 and a monthly pension of EGP1500 for the families of each victim.
12:15 - World leaders have continued to express their condemnation of the attack and their condolences for the Egyptian people.
Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed his country’s support to Egypt and pointed out that the international community has to be united in its efforts to support peace against terrorism.
Speaker of the Knesset Yuli-Yoel Edelstein sent a condolences message to the speaker of Egypt’s parliament Ali Abdel-Al and confirmed Israel’s support to Egypt against terrorism.
The Italian and Turkish foreign ministers also condemned the attacks, as well as Syria, Iraq, Libya, India, Singapore and Cyprus.
11:51 - Funeral for Alexandria's Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral started at St. Mina Monastery.
11:48 - The government declared state of emergency starting 1 p.m. on Monday.
