CAIRO- 29 December 2017: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark led Thursday's mass at Archangel Michael Church in Cairo's district of Sheraton.
The pope was accompanied by a host of bishops and priests as well as members of the Holy Synod.
Pope Tawadros witnessed the inauguration of three altars and greeted the worshippers on the Xmas, voicing hope that peace and prosperity would prevail in Egypt.
He praised the technical design of the church and thanked Anba Bishoy, Archbishop of Damietta and Kafr El Sheikh as well as the bishops and priests and the Archangel church's board for all the work they have done to establish the premises.
In his sermon, Pope Tawadros urged all humans to stick to the values of goodness and righteousness and reject all the vicious aspects of their lives, wishing them a blessed new year.
