CAIRO – 9 April 2017: The Egyptian government has declared a three-day-mourning after

two bombings

that targeted churches in Tanta, north of Cairo and Alexandria city during Palm Sunday services.

The first blast hit Mar Girgis Church in Tanta, Sunday morning. Four hours later, a suicide bomber blew himself up in front of Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria.

Egypt’s Prime Minister Sherif Ismail labeled the attacks an “act of terror.”
