File - UK government lifts laptop bans on flights from airports of Hurgada, Marsa Alam
CAIRO – 22 December 2017: The United Kingdom ended the nine-month laptop ban on UK-bound flights coming from Hurgada and Marsa Alam, according to Sputnik, citing the UK government press release.
"Hurghada and Marsa Alam airports no longer subject to restrictions on carrying large phones, laptops and tablets in the cabin," the statement said, adding that the laptop ban is still in operation on London-bound flights from Tunisia and Turkey.
Restrictions on passengers carrying laptops and other electronic devices onboard London-Cairo flights were also lifted in September after additional security measures were introduced.
