1 officer killed, 2 injured in missile attack at Arish Airport

CAIRO –19 December 2017: An armed forces officer was killed and two others were injured after a missile attack hit Arish airport, according to the military spokesperson, Hisham al-Refae.

The attack also caused partial damages to an armed forces helicopter, the statement further stated, adding that the attack occurred coincidentally with the visit of the ministers of interior and defense.

Military officers immediately dealt with the source of the smoke plume seen coming from the airport and taped off the surrounding area for further investigation.
