CAIRO – 11 December 2017: Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Egypt Arman Isagaliev stressed Sunday, marking the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two states, that the Kazakh-Egyptian relationship has witnessed a huge development.

Delivering a speech in the ceremony marking the 26th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence, attended by Egyptian officials, Isagaliev exclaimed that Minister of Housing Mustafa Madbouli visited the Kazakh capital of Astana to discuss Kazakhstan helping establish Egypt’s New Administrative Capital.

He further explained that Cairo hosted the Egyptian-Kazakh Governmental Joint Committee in March. They agreed on Kazakhstan’s support for Egypt in negotiations for establishing a free trade market between Egypt and the Eurasian Economic Union.

He noted that Kazakhstan is the second country in terms of tourists visiting Sharm El Sheikh. Kazakh tourist flights to Egypt have reached 38 per month.

The relationship with Egypt has been strengthened recently, especially after Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi paid a two-day visit to Astana on February 26 and 27, 2016.

The two countries have accomplished many things, such as the establishment of political dialogue and the development of trade and economic relations, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Relations between the two countries date back to 1991, when Egypt became one of the first countries to recognize Kazakhstan after its independence.
