9 lawyers sentenced to 5 years for insulting judiciary

CAIRO – 13 March 2017: Minya Criminal Court sentenced nine lawyers each to five years in prison after the court found them guilty of insulting the judiciary and of assaults on a judge in Matay Court in March 2013,

Chairman of Egyptian Organization for Human Rights Hafiz Abu Seada denounced the verdict on his Twitter account, calling it an assault on lawyers and their profession . He also called for a stand from the Lawyers Syndicate and lawyers against the verdict.
