CAIRO – 13 March 2017: Egypt’s Grand Mufti Shawki Allam met Kuwaiti Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohamed Nasr El-Gabry to seek cooperation between Dar El-Ifta and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Religious Endowments,
Sunday.
During the meeting, Allam highlighted the deep historical relations between Egypt and Kuwait. Cooperation between the two countries will be boosted during the coming period in various fields, especially combating extremism and terrorism, he said.
For his part, El-Gabry said Egypt is “the heart of the Arab and Islamic nation,” as it has a significant role in addressing both international and Arab cases.
He also said Westerners have the wrong image about Islam and Muslims, stressing that it is the responsibility of religious authorities in the Arab world to correct the image which extremists have distorted.
