CAIRO- 8 December 2017: U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that moving the US embassy to Jerusalem will probably not be executed before two years, during a joint press conference with his French foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, AFP reported Friday.

In his speech from Paris, Tillerson added that the U.S. administration still needs to decide on the site of the new relocated embassy, and make construction plans before building process begins.

This comes two days after U.S. President Donald Trump's recognition of the holy city as the capital of Israel. Accordingly, Trump announced moving the U.S embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Tillerson commented saying that Trump's decision does not indicate any final status for the fate of Jerusalem, adding that it is left to Palestinian and Israeli parties to decide on.

Trump's move is considered a break from the decade-long US policy regarding the Palestinian-Israeli crisis.

The announcement stirred rage among Arabs and Muslims across the world, with many protests took to the street to reject the decision as "illegal" and not abiding by the international law.
