Grand Imam performs Friday prayers in Al Radwa mosque

NORTH SINAI, Egypt - 1 December 2017: Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed el Tayyeb performed Friday prayers in Al Rawda Mosque in Bir el Abed in North Sinai on the anniversary of one week since the terrorist attack that left 310 dead and scores wounded.

Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawki Allam, Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and North Sinai Governor Abdel Fattah Harhor, as well as a number of politicians, public figures, military and tribal leaders also performed Friday prayers in the mosque.

The grand imam stressed on the need to fight those who seek corruption in the country, calling on the residents of Bir el Abed to stand by the state in its fight against crime and terrorism.

Many Egyptians feel great sorrow over Friday's terrorist attack that left many innocent persons dead and others injured, he added.
