Defense and Military Production Minister Sedki Sobhi probed Wednesday with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu military cooperation in Cairo - EGYPT TODAY
CAIRO - 29 November 2017: Defense and Military Production Minister Sedki Sobhi probed Wednesday with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu and his accompanying delegation currently visiting Egypt the latest regional developments.
They discussed also the war against terrorism which imposes regional and international challenges as well as the joint efforts exerted to restore security and stability in the Middle East region.
The two sides held important talks where both ministers presided over the fourth meeting of the Egyptian-Russian military committee which tackled a number of files and issues related to partnership ties and joint military cooperation.
Sobhi stressed the depth of the Egyptian-Russian relations with its strategic nature that extend throughout history full of honorable stances at the regional and international levels.
He further pointed out to the keenness of both Armed Forces on exchanging expertise.
For his part, Shoigu stressed the importance of bolstering bilateral cooperation in the military and industrial fields besides organizing joint drills.
The Russian minister referred to Egypt's vital role at the regional and international levels.
Shoigu condemned the terrorist attack that hit Rawda Mosque in North Sinai on Friday, stressing his country's solidarity with Egypt in its battle against terrorism which threatens all peoples in the world.
The Russian minister got a red-carpet reception at the Defense Ministry's general secretariat where the national anthem of both countries was played.
