Russian defense minister arrives in Cairo to meet Sisi

CAIRO – 29 November 2017: Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu arrived to Cairo to discuss cooperation with President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on Wednesday. They will also be discussing developmental strategies.

Last May, Shoygu visited Egypt and discussed some matters of mutual interest, especially with regards to military cooperation and the development of relations between Egypt and Russia.

The meeting also reviewed development in the Middle East region, as well as regional and international challenges, including threats of terrorism and extremism, which have in turn become a threat to international peace and security.
