CAIRO - 2 March 2017: The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign affairs released a

statement

Wednesday condemning a Taliban attack that targeted police and intelligence headquarters in Kabul.


Kabul, the Afghani capital, witnessed two separate suicide bombings in two different locations Wednesday, for which the Taliban has claimed responsibility. The attacks resulted in at least 23 deaths and wounded hundreds, according to the

.


Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid expressed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved families. “Egypt stands by the Afghani people and their government in countering terrorism,” Zeid’s statement said.


According to the statement, released on the ministry’s official Facebook page, the ministry urged the international community to “step up efforts to address the dangerous phenomena” of terrorism.
