Saudi FM may visit Egypt next week

CAIRO – 1 March 2017: Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir will visit Egypt to discuss bilateral relations between Cairo and Riyadh, a diplomatic source revealed to Youm7 Tuesday.

Communications with Saudi authorities are ongoing to prepare for the visit that will probably take place next week, said the source, who wished to remain anonymous. There has been no official confirmation from the authorities in Cairo.

This would be Jubeir’s first visit to Egypt since tensions emerged between the two countries when Saudi Arabian Oil Company Aramco halted its oil shipments to Egypt in November.

Jubeir will be meeting Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and may meet President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to deliver a message from Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, according to Youm7.
