Lebanon’s relations with Arab countries are distinct: Hariri

CAIRO – 23 November 2017: Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri stated on Thursday during the Annual Arab Banking Conference in Beirut that Lebanon’s relations with Arab countries are important and distinct, pointing out his state’s keenness to preserve these relations.

Al-Hariri added that the Arab region faces many problems but the stability and renaissance of Lebanon is more important at this critical stage.

“The period that passed was perhaps like a wakeup call for all of us to look for Lebanon’s interests rather than looking at problems around us,” Hariri said. “The problems around us are important, but Lebanon is more important.”

Lebanon is following Rafik Hariri’s strategies of economic development and stability, Hariri added; hailing the role of the Lebanese central bank in maintaining the stability of Lebanon’s currency.

Hariri declared Wednesday morning that he accepted Michel Aoun's demand of postponing his resignation decision.

During a speech from Beirut, Hariri announced that all parts should commit to self-control in the favor of Lebanon’s interest. A dialog between all parties in Lebanon is expected to kick off.
