PARIS - 22 November 2017: French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday made separate phone calls with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss regional issues, especially the situation in Lebanon, the Elysee said.

Macron told the two leaders that it was vital to keep Lebanon disassociated from regional crisis and urged all countries in the region to work collectively to reduce tensions, according to a statement by the Elysee.

He stressed France’s commitment to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, but that regional subjects and ballistic missile programs should be discussed separately.
