Conference to announce 4th Arab Water Forum themes on Thursday

CAIRO – 19 November 2017: President of Arab Water Council Mahmoud Abu-Zeid will hold a press conference on Thursday at the Arab Water Council headquarter to review themes, activities and events of the fourth Arab Water Forum, being held from November 26 to 28 in Cairo.

“Destiny Sharing, Water Sharing” was chosen to be the slogan of the forth Arab Water Forum as it is scheduled to include interactive discussions on a number of important topics of interest to water users.

The fourth Arab Water Forum will be held under the purview of the League of Arab States (LAS) and the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of Egypt.

It will focus on five main themes: water and sustainable development, food and energy-climate nexus, water quality and ecosystems, sustainable solutions for shared water resources, and water and science technology and innovation.

Saudi Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Defense Minister and Honorary President of the Arab Water Council will host the forum. A number of foreign ministers and environment ministers from different Arab countries, as well as regional leaders, regional and international organizations concerned with water issues will attend the press conference.
