The Arab ministers held its meeting at the request of Saudi Arabia to discuss "violations" committed by Iran in the region.
Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates approved the Saudi request, which was also approved by Djibouti, the current chair of the pan-Arab bloc, according to a memorandum seen by AFP on Sunday.
Lebanon’s foreign minister may not attend an Arab League meeting in Cairo on Sunday; the final decision will be taken that morning, a senior Lebanese official told Reuters on Saturday.
The official said Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil wanted to avoid any potential confrontation with Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies at the meeting, over the regional role of the Iran-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah.
