Israel fires 'warning shot' across border with Syria - FILE PHOTO
RAMALLAH - 19 November 2017: The Israeli army said on Saturday it has fired a tank shell near the Bedouin village of Hader in Syria Saturday as a "warning shot" after the Syrian military conducted construction along their border, Ynetnews reported Saturday.
This warning shot came following a fortification operation carried out by the Syrian army in violation of the cease-fire agreement that prohibits military activity in the buffer zone, said the paper on its website.
The Israeli army alleged Syria violated the 1974 cease-fire agreement on the Golan Heights by using heavy tools to fortify a military post in the demilitarized zone between the countries.
In response, the army added it complained to the United Nations peacekeeper force station on the Golan and fired a tank shell as a warning.
The Golan Heights are divided into three areas, which are controlled by Syria, Israel and the United Nations.
