CAIRO – 18 November 2017: The students of Al-Dabaa Nuclear Energy School will start the academic year next Sunday in School of Industrial Technology in Nasr City until the establishment of their main school headquarters in Marsa Matrouh has been finalized, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education announced.

According to informed sources in the Education Ministry, 75 students joined the school this year and they were divided into three classes with 25 students in each one. Thirty students were selected from Marsa Matrouh governorate and 45 were selected from other governorates.

The ministry provides accommodation for students and teachers who come from distant governorates, the sources added.

The sources pointed out that the students are expected to continue in the school of industrial technology in Nasr City until the end of the first semester, noting that all available facilities will be available to students.

According to a previous announcement made by the ministry, Al-Dabaa Nuclear Energy School began receiving students from July 2 to 15 at the Directorate of Education in Marsa Matrouh.

The number of students who applied to the school amounted to 1,870 students. Only 75 of them were selected according to the requirements set by the General Administration of Industrial Technical Education at the Ministry of Education.

Upon graduation, students of this nuclear school will go on to work at Egypt’s first nuclear power plant at El Dabaa.

Egypt and Russia reached an intergovernmental agreement on November 19, 2015 that granted the construction of Dabaa nuclear power plant using Russian technologies and a $25-billion loan from Russia.
