CAIRO – 16 November 2017: The Supreme State Security Prosecution began on Thursday to extensively interrogate the Libyan terrorist Abdel Rahim Mohammed Abdullah Msmari, the sole-surviving militant of the air strike and military raids conducted in response to the Giza-Wahat terror attack.

It also began its investigations with a number of other defendants who were found to be linked to the terrorist organization that committed Al-Wahat terror attack.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi announced in the World Youth Forum that the security forces managed to arrest one attacker and eliminate all other members of the group that committed the attack which killed about 16 officers and soldiers.

The president stated that a confession made by the detained attacker would be aired by the media very soon. He noted that the group comprised 14 terrorists.

The country exerts increasing efforts to maintain security of more than 12,000-kilometer long border lines, he noted.

The Libyan terrorist Msmari is scheduled to make an appearance on the private-owned Al-Haya television channel, at 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.

On October 31, a large number of militants were killed by airstrikes carried out by the Egyptian air forces upon orders issued by the general commander of the Armed Forces.

The airstrikes were launched on a hiding place along Al-Wahat (Oasis) road in a mountainous area west of Fayoum.

“The strikes resulted in the destruction of three four-wheel drive vehicles loaded with large quantities of weapons, ammunition and highly explosive materials,” said the Armed Forces’ spokesperson Tamer el-Refae in a statement.

The Giza-Wahat attacks took place in late October, when 17 security officials and 15 militants were killed during an exchange of fire. The government managed to destroy the terrorist cell in Giza-Wahat area by November 2;
