CAIRO – 14 November 2017: The Cairo Criminal Court decided during a session on Tuesday to postpone to next Tuesday retrying 739 defendants of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood, including the guide of the group Mohamed Badei, in the case of the armed sit-in at Rabaa el Adaweya in Nasr city in 2013.
The defendants are charged with committing crimes and protesting illegally at Rabaa el Adaweya sit-in with the aim of spreading chaos in the country by breaking into police stations and government institutions and sabotaging private property.
The court decided to delay the retrial to complete hearing the testimonies of the witnesses.
They are also accused of joining a banned group and circulating fake news with the aim of undermining public security.
