CAIRO – 13 November 2017: A delegation from the International Labor Organization (ILO) arrived at Cairo International Airport Sunday night to meet a number of Egyptian officials.

The delegation is set to participate in the meetings to be held by the Director of the ILO Cairo Office, Peter Van Rooij, to discuss the developments of the Egyptian labor market and the laws regulating it.

Egypt has signed a cooperation protocol with the ILO in September for youth employment targeting to create one million job opportunities over three years.

The program also aims to raise technical skills in job-generating sectors, promote small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and provide job opportunities in the neediest governorates.

The program deals with a total number of two million workers in 1,500 factories, and it connects 35 companies in the U.S., Europe and Japan.
