CAIRO – 12 November 2017: Alexandria governor, Mohamed Sultan, casts the first stone of the new German School, San Sharl Bourome, on Saturday with the participation of the German Ambassador in Cairo, Julius Georg Luy, as part of Egyptian-German cooperation.
The new school is a new page in the history of German schools. It will be the second largest German school in the world outside Germany, said the German Ambassador.

New San Sharl Bourome is a German investment in Egypt. It will cost €16 million ($18.6 million), indicating that it is a great step for strengthening the relationship between the two countries, added Luy.
Georg Luy stated that the school will be like the Goethe-Institute which will be concerned with the social building of modern society, hoping to contribute in developing the Egyptian education process.

“I would like to thank Egyptian Prime Minister, education minister and governor of Alexandria for their cooperation to end the legal problems which lasted eight years,” read Luy.
It is an honor for Alexandria to cast the corner stone of New San Sharl Bourome, said Sultan; indicating that it is an important addition to education in Alexandria. He also expressed his appreciation to the German government for supporting Egyptian education which indicates the deep relations both countries share.
