CAIRO – 6 November 2017: To disseminate peace and open new horizons among youth, Egypt inaugurated its first edition of the World Youth Forum, providing a platform for youth to share discussions over future development on Sunday in Sharm El-Sheikh city, South Sinai.
At the inauguration, a group of prodigies expressed their opinions on education, the impact of visual designs, technology solutions, and refugees’ suffering.

Yazidi activist Lamiya Aji Bashar, who was given a heartfelt round of applause at the forum, said to the young participants that “Your dreams are big… but your will is bigger, and your energy for building, peace and love is even larger.”

She asked all communities around the world to help in the fight against terror, and, speaking for victims of terrorism, offered efforts to build bridges between world ethnicities and religions.
Gada Wali, the Egyptian graphic design pioneer, talked about the importance and impact of visual designs and connections, relaying that they could impact nations.

“I believe that all problems facing the world are due to a lack of education,” said Sohail Abdel Moghny, who is an activist advocating female education in Yemen.
Rachel Sibande, an entrepreneur who launched the first tech-hub in Malawi, highlighted the importance of “creating a generation that transcends from job seekers to job creators.” Sipande added that she dreams of “seeing a generation of young creative minds building technology solutions that serve mankind.”

Young Egyptian activist Yassin Zoghby, 18, participated in the World Youth Forum in Sharm El-Sheikh with his documentary, "Mailing Address," which delivered the struggle of refugees and their problems across the world.

Zoghby is determined to redefine disabilities and spark a glimmer of hope in all the Egyptian youth to see beyond their obstacles.
In his speech at the forum, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi spoke fervently about the danger that terrorism poses on all humanity and Egypt’s fight against extremism.

“Terrorism violates and destroys our human nature. The fight against terrorism is a right to humanity.”

“The great Egyptian young people managed to protect their human heritage from those who try to destroy civilization. They succeeded in defeating extremist groups’ vacuous plans, which adopt violence and murder,” the president added.
The president concluded his speech by calling on Egyptian and global youth to adopt objective dialogue and peaceful coexistence virtues without age, racial or sex discrimination, or bias to any party.
Sisi welcomed all participants; both the youth and world leaders.
