FM expresses appreciation to Sharjah ruler for delivering Egypt 354 artifacts

CAIRO – 5 November 2017: Foreign Ministry expressed appreciation to ruler of Sharjah Sultan al Qasimi for his keenness on delivering Egypt 354 smuggled antiquities and seizing them by the authorities of Sharjah.

Foreign Minister Assistant for Cultural Relations Heba el Marasi stressed on Sunday that the initiative of al Qasimi comes within the framework of joint cultural cooperation and keenness on preserving cultural and humanitarian heritage; the matter which reflects strong ties binding the two countries.

She further said that Egypt seeks more cooperation and coordination with UAE to preserve Egypt's cultural heritage.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Embassy in Abu Dhabi received an official notification from al Qasimi about the antiquities where he decided to deliver it to Egypt during his visit to the country in order to attend the World Youth Forum held in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh
