EXCLUSIVE: WYF is a chance to prove Egyptian youth’s caliber - EFDF director

CAIRO – 5 November 2017: The World Youth Forum Conference will benefit Egypt both internally and externally extensively, the director of the Egyptian Foreign Diplomatic Forum, Gihan el-Hadidi stated to Egypt today.

“Our goal is to give a full impression to those present that Egypt is fully secure and able to organize world events with merit, and that is an excellent impression we will give to all attendees about Egypt. Our goal is to ensure that we reimage Egypt in the minds of all attendees,” Hadidi emphasized.

The forum is a chance to attract a large number of tourists to Egypt; emphasizing Egypt's security and affirming that Egypt has great facilities capable of hosting global events where everyone is able to work uninterrupted, Hadidi added.

Hadidi further pointed out that the forum will indicate to the world that Egypt has successful young calibers that are capable of assuming responsibility.

“Our young volunteers were trained at the highest levels in a not-so short duration and have been very carefully chosen to deal with the event. The country has young calibers capable of doing a lot and honoring Egypt in the global forums. I think it is clear in the preparations and the final touches that everyone here is working round the clock to represent the state in a successful and outstanding image to the whole world,” Hadidi stated.

A number of international delegations and officials arrived in Egypt on Saturday to participate in the World Youth Forum, held in Sharm El-Sheikh under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.


A number of African delegations, 30 participants from the UAE and the ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah arrived in Cairo International Airport Saturday.


A delegation of media professionals and journalists arrived Saturday in Sharm El-Sheikh Airport to participate in the activities of the forum. The delegation included TV presenters Khairi Ramadan and Moufid Fawzi, Mohamed El Baz, and Youm7’s Executive Editor Dandrawy Al-Hawary.


Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri also arrived on Saturday to Sharm El-Sheikh.


Both Egypt’s Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will be heading to Sharm El-Sheikh on Sunday to attend the WYF.


Hundreds of young people from all over the world flocked to Sharm El-Sheikh, where the WYF will convene under the theme “We Need to Talk.”


The seven-day gathering is witnessing the participation of official youth representatives over 18 years old, leaders of various youth networks, head of states, media figures and around 250 young Egyptian expats.
