CAIRO – 4 November 2017: Foreign Ministry announced Saturday that there is constant contact with the Egyptian Embassy in South Africa, to follow up the case of the missing Egyptian citizen named Mohammed Nawar. Nawar was found dead today.

The body of Mohamed Ahmed Nawar was found buried in a shallow grave at Lessen National Reserve, north of Marble Hall, near a river in the reserve, Limpopo police spokesperson Moat Ngoepe was quoted as saying.

The statement said that the embassy had been notified that Nawar was missing since September 29, 2017. The embassy addressed The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Africa on the matter. They have been following up on the investigations’ latest findings. Those findings revealed that Nawar was killed and buried by a band of thieves who wanted his car.

The ministry urged the Egyptian expats in South Africa to take precautions and not to walk around with fistfuls of banknotes.
