Egypt’s Mufti hails army, police efforts to uproot terrorism

CAIRO - 3 November 2017: Egypt's Mufti Shawqi Allam has commended efforts exerted by the army and police to uproot terrorism, calling on brave soldiers to show no mercy to those who endanger the nation’s security.

Allam, in a TV statements, urged Egyptians to unite and work for the sake of the homeland to foil any plots to threaten the country's security and stability.

Asked about calls propagated by some extremist groups to remove border and create a caliphate, Allam said the aim behind this malicious call is to achieve political purposes, asserting that the caliphate is not an end in itself, but rather a mean for managing people’s affairs.
