BAGHDAD - 3 November 2017: Units from the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service have entered Gaza neighborhood in al Qa'im town in western Anbar, an Iraqi military source said on Friday.

The move comes within the framework of the Iraqi forces' efforts to recapture al Qa'im town from Daesh terrorist group, the source told Alsumaria news channel.

Last week, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al Abadi announced an offensive to recapture the last patch of Iraqi territory still in the hands of Daesh, on the border area with Syria.

"Daesh members have to choose between death and surrender," Abadi said in a statement announcing the military operation.
