CAIRO - 2 November 2017: The Libyan national army announced Thursday that a delegation of senior Libyan military officials have met in Cairo to continue talks on the reorganization of the national army that plays a key role in restoring stability of the North African country.
In a statement, the Libyan army said the delegation was received in Cairo from October 29 to November 2 by Assistant Defense Minister of Egypt Maj. General Mohamed el keshky who chairs a committee assigned to follow up Libya’s file.
The talks covered the restructuring plan and the nature of relation between the military and the civil authority, the statement said.
The delegation urged the Libyan people to stand by their national army for the best of homeland, the statement added.
Also, they called on media to show support for their efforts and make the interest of homeland a priority in order to restore security to the Arab country.
They agreed on holding another meeting in Cairo to follow up the measures needed for keeping the army united, the statement said.
