Puigdemont will cooperate with Spanish, Belgian authorities
Ousted Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont will cooperate with Spanish and Belgian authorities, even though he did not appear before Spanish judges earlier on Thursday, his Belgian lawyer said.

"The climate is not good, it is better to take some distance," lawyer Paul Bekaert told Reuters.

"If they ask, he will cooperate with Spanish and Belgian justice," Bekaert added, Reuters reported.

Kurdistan denies signing any agreement with Baghdad
The Kurdish authorities called for a transparent and constructive dialogue with the Iraqi government, denying reports about signing any deals with the Iraqi government, Al Sumaria news channel reported Thursday, according to MENA.

In a statement, the Kurdish authorities denied statements by Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al Abadi about Erbil's withdrawal from an inked agreement between a delegation from the Iraqi army and the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs, saying no agreement was signed between both sides.

They noted that a draft agreement was put forward by the government’s military delegation, and it was replaced on the second day of a scheduled meeting between the Kurdish and Iraqi delegation.

Syrian opposition: Russia conference aims to rehabilitate Assad
The main Syrian opposition body said on Thursday that a Russian-sponsored Syrian peace conference later this month represents a deviation from U.N.-led diplomacy and an attempt to rehabilitate President Bashar al-Assad's government, Reuters reported.

"We, in the High Negotiations Committee (HNC), insist on rejecting discussions of Syria's future outside the legal, U.N. framework," the HNC said in a statement sent to Reuters.
