CAIRO – 1 November 2017: Al-Azhar condemned on Wednesday the terrorist attack that targeted pedestrians in New York’s Manhattan, extending condolences to the families of the victims and sincere wishes for wholesome and speedy recoveries for the injured.
On Tuesday, a pickup truck mowed down a bike path in lower Manhattan, New York City, killing at least eight and injuring a dozen.
Al-Azhar, in a statement released on Wednesday, underscored the world’s need for fusing ranks in the face of the spread of terrorism through drying up sources of its financing, and addressing its political and intellectual roots.
In a Wednesday statement, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry offered condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for those who have been injured. The statement asserted Egypt's solidarity with the American people and administration.
